A natural by-product, not a primary driver
Leather is a by-product of the meat and dairy industry. Without tanning, these hides would otherwise be sent to landfill. By transforming them into a durable, biodegradable material, the leather industry reduces waste rather than creating new environmental demand.
Water stewardship & responsible tanning
We only partner with tanneries that meet independently audited water treatment and chemical management standards, including Leather Working Group (LWG) certified facilities where available.
Built to outlast synthetic alternatives
Full-grain leather naturally biodegrades and, cared for correctly, lasts decades longer than PU or vinyl alternatives — reducing the total replacement cycle and long-term landfill impact.

Common questions
Is leather really more sustainable than synthetic alternatives?
As a natural, biodegradable by-product, leather avoids the petroleum inputs and microplastic shedding associated with PU and vinyl, and typically lasts significantly longer in use.
How do you verify your tannery partners?
We require independent certification (including LWG audits where applicable) covering water treatment, chemical handling and labour standards before onboarding any tannery partner.
Do you offer chrome-free or vegetable-tanned leather?
Yes — our Craft & Belting range is predominantly vegetable-tanned, and we are expanding chrome-free options across upholstery grades. Ask our team for current availability.
Can I request traceability documentation for a hide?
Contact our team with a batch or order number and we will provide origin and certification documentation.
